I looked at a tree
And wondered, is it free?
Rooted at one place
More than my lifespan
Nature manifesting around it in billion ways
Is it even aware?
Limitation to its height
How far can it see?
With such restrictions
Does it even want to be?
Just giving food, shelter and shade
Isn’t life boring, at one place it fades
So I travelled across
Visiting mountains, cities and seas
Met people of different flavours
But was anyone at peace?
I glanced again at the tree
Desire less, egoless, selfless it is
No fear of future, no regret of past
In no being, I could see this state last
Despite no movement, I felt its eternal bliss
That moment, from the tree
I learned how to be.
