If one day I look back when I am unable
I fear I should not regret not fulfilling many a promise—
Regrets of many possibilities I could have embraced
When I had it all:
The time and the vigour.
I fear I should not regret
That excuses had all of me,
And made me look small.
I fear I should not wish to turn back time,
To undo the excuses I created.
If one day I look back when I am unable,
I wish for no regrets.
No—
I don’t want to sigh a deep regret.
Alas! Time is the master.
It is with us—
To take or to give,
To say, “I did it,”
Or… “I regret.”
