Ready for Battle

By Mahika Durante

I woke up one morning
And looked outside.
When I saw what was there,
I had to rub my eyes!

Bright red viruses
Were flying in the sky.
I blinked and blinked,
But those spiky orbs were still flying high!

My teeth rattled
And I began to worry.
Could I face those monsters?
Yes - it was time to hurry!

I grabbed my sanitiser-spray
And charged outside
Though I should have known better,
I left my mask inside!

I slashed at and sprayed a virus,
Using all the power I had
How could those little creatures spread so much sickness?
Anger boiled in me and made me mad.

Even with all my strength
Together, they outnumbered me
I sighed, knowing what this meant,
But that I fought back made me happy.

  • ANOTHER POEMM!! (Full part)

I was chilling in the park
    Until it started to rain
So i climbed into a tree
Cos i have a smoll brain

    I tried to get down
But it grew into a storm
I wish I was with my best friend
But shes hiding in our dorm

    I was really really frightened
    As heavier rain fell
    Istg its pouring so much
It could fill up a well!

    I guess now im stranded
In the middle of the park
    I wish i could escape
    Cos its rlly rlly dark….

  • I HAVE MADE A POEM FOR YOU!!
    (ITS ABT ME THO)

    I love cheese
    And so does my rat
But he ate all of mine
So i brought out a baseball bat

    I whacked him once
    Then one more time
    I continued to do so
Until it hit me, THATS A CRIME!

    But I didnt care
What was i supposed to do
    He ate my favourite cheese
And thats a nightmare come true!

    So before the cops arrived
    It hit me like thunder!
I grabbed a shovel and spade
And buried him 6 feet under

  • I am a old bald man
    Though I wish for hair
    I asked my pet rat
But he too has none to spare

    Then one fine day
    A miracle occured!
My rat grew a strand of hair!
    And named it ferd

    He was truly delighted
To find out it was grey
    He then vowed to god
That he would make it slay!

I was jealous of his success
And so I thought of a plan
    To take away his dream
    And so I ran

    I gathered the supplies
    To make it come true
    I took a leaf-blower
    And off it flew

    It sailed the 7 seas
    And crossed niagara falls
    It survived an earthquake
    And really creepy dolls

    After centuries to go
    It eventually back thundered
    But to dismay
My rat and I were 6 feet under.

  • Love this poem. If you are willing, may I create a tune with these lyrics? What a talented child.

  • Vibhan back again I just wanted to say that my rat is still alive. But it’s also bald. Its name is chocolate strawberry bald creator Victoria Manon Lara tandawal the 3rd.
I also contain a rare disease that makes me obese no matter how many kgs of magic ice cream I eat it doesn’t go away!

  • I love this poem. I am a bald 40 year middle aged man and I lost my hair due to Covid. It was because my rat that got Covid started biting my hair when I was sleeping so I eventually went bald. This made me reminesnve about those times. I love you Mahika Durante ( as a poet) continue to write poetry and have a happy life.
