Poems are the carcass of love

By Saima Patel

Our Audacity to live inside broken homes
The cracked pieces of the bleeding crimson pile
Picked a few of many shards to light up the moaning vile
Threw away a mile; a centimetre
Crawing to old dusty creeks midnight seems few lightyears away

The generational gap; love an old myth
The dawning present for me!
Carving the graveyard tombs for hidden messages
Raven sings the song of the dead

We walk past everything; cold & lifeless
The pungency of lies and guilt mixed
the air sniffs like hospital ward.
the cut so deep, the scars will emulsify your empty words, the poetry injected pacify.
Bruised.

Let em’ know how shallow we
The monkiness of giving up on you
Finding my sleep at utmost odd hours
Maybe that’s when you leave my mind for some peace
Attached myself like a horcrux, unable to detach
till I find another soul for me

Bathe in glory of blurred lines
Bed untouched, one last time
Packed up now, your memories in a suitcase
I travel with you a little, here and there we leave footprints.
Pray, for thee asks of forgiveness of sinning when known of your demons.
