They complain about callous mothers
Chaotic mothers; annoyed others
Exhausted mother; collapsing structures
Erratic mother; bleak future
Excited mothers; smooth soarers
They talk about safety
Lightness which is bearable
Exuberant childhood
Healed connections
Patterns anew
To pleasures renew
Calm cycles; less wrinkles
More boundaries; fewer recoveries
They don’t talk about peace
Absence of insecurities
Village around; support abound
Uncontrolled conditions; cruel contradictions
Mother is a cellular being
With fetal cells still living
Inside her screaming
Allow me safety, sans the heavy
I am life, nurturing life
Running on memory rife
River of hunger flows in me
And patience of sea glides
From depth of tides I learn
Time has run out to mourn
Unlearn all lessons from past creatures
To be a “peaceful mother”
Failures, setbacks, pressures
Nerves, anxiety, stressors
Society, judgements, shame
Just a few labels to name
Beyond it lies a credential chain
Peace comes with a price
But no equity in existence slice
This destiny we share
In family line
If you rebel
You won’t stay mine.
What a wonderful representation of mothers.
It’s painful beauty and ecstasy percolating all over our beings ….
Perfectly beautiful poem to read by Meenakshi Jha who has captured that indescribable suffering and injustice is done to one gender that is programmed to only give.
Love its simplicity and flow and how it binds all the womanhood together.
Beautiful beyond words !!
