By Ammara Muhimtulay
I look at the sky and count the stars
One, Two, Three and millions
But when I look down it was always
What do you Wish to be
I was asked most of the times ;as a child
And I would think of a pure fantasy
I wish to be a Fairy
I wish to be a Queen
In a world where dragon flies in the sky
Or a fairytale often from my imagery dream
Left clueless and quite loss
All I could ever say was,
"I have yet to find that 'something'. "
I enjoyed poetry and loved it a lot
As a child of a teacher
Well respected, loved and admired
My father and I both were
To me it was a weapon as well as an armor
They thought my talents were
his inspirations
And I would unwillingly say,
"yes" to everyone
I wish to be an astronaut
I wish to be an ophthalmologist
But all of these were just distractions
For myself who was filled with temptations
People expected great things of me
Someone who's father's a teacher
Mother is kind hearted
And has talented elder sisters
And me who was just mere ten yrs
older than her twin
Had more than just desires
Akin to that of stupid thoughts
To me who was still a child
Yet to understand her own self well
Knew clearly one, Two, and three
They were about the condition, situation and who I should be
I knew my talents, will always be known
for such Admirable Parents
I knew my hard work, will always be known
for such inspiring sisters
And if this is how Twisted Reality is
Then I Won't Give Up!
For the sake of my own pride
I strove to write something unique
That none of them had at all
And that 'something' is called 'poetry'
'Something' that comes from
One, Two, Three
They are my passion, hard work
and My Own Artistry
Then this time I asked myself,
""One, Two, Three!
What do I wish to be?""
And myself replied to me,
""Three, Two, One!
I want to follow my passion""
I enjoy poetry quite a lot
Where reality and fantasy can talk to me
Where I can meet with fairytales of my imagery
Where the sun would smile every day
Under the moon I would dance and play
A place where books can speak to me
A place where I can talk freely
I write with joy and heartfelt thoughts
Which I only share with pen, papers and you all
A pen in my hand
a book on table
I write the word 'poem'
One, Two, Three.......... Forever!
