She was alone in the evening
A thirteen-year-old teenager,
Her uncle visited her
Who was not a stranger.
She gave him a brunch
Spoke to him politely
He handed her some presents
Sat on the couch decidedly.
They spoke about school
Hard work and favorite subject
He sat closer as she said
She wanted to be an architect.
He advised her on sports
Suggested some exercise
His hand was on her shoulder
She was in for a surprise.
They spoke of all things
Important or otherwise
The naïve girl did not know
The evil in disguise.
His hands were on her breasts
She looked with eyes wide
Is this right or wrong
Was unable to decide.
She was confused as
He kissed her lips
His behavior was weird
She felt hands on her hips.
Astonished, thrilled, dazed,
Shaken, weak, invaded,
She felt it is wrong,
But her courage faded.
He unzipped her pants
She wanted to scream, STOP!
But it was too late
He was already on top.
She suddenly realized
What has happened
Felt used and abused
Guilty and saddened.
If someone had taught her
About sex and relationships
She would not be hurt so
Prepared her for hardships.
She scrubbed herself
Until she hurt and cried
Felt dirty all over
Damaged and traumatized.
Her first time was not love
It was filthy, vulgar, lust
Used as an object
Filled with disgust.
She decided to keep it a secret
To avoid the shame
Like most other people
She did not want the blame.
It’s true. Educate children.
