In finding ourselves
In the size chart of stores
And scale of machines,
We somewhere lost ourselves in between.
In refusing extra portions
Of necessary nutrition,
And letting numerics rule our heart,
We somewhere became too harsh.
In straining our muscles to the point of tear,
And running mercilessly on the treadmill,
And squeezing out our breath,
We somewhere forgot to rest.
In thinking of judgements,
And hating our body,
And obsessing at its flaws,
We somewhere put our love on pause.
