यार अब मैं तो हीर बन गई
पर वो रांझा बनाने से चूक गया।
ये दुनियादारी, यारा-वारी
सब कुछ पीछे छूट गया।
खेल-तमाशा, नीम-बताशा
सब एक ही की स्वाद में ही घुल गया।
उसकी एक झलक पर था अटका
मेरी साँसों का आना जाना।
घर वालों ने सब करके दिखा
वैध-हकीम जादू - टोना।
पर किसी हल कुछ भी नहीं बदला
ना मैं ही सुधरी, न मेरा दिल ही सँभला।
ना मिला जवाब — कोई बात नहीं!
न मिली वफ़ा भी तो क्या हुआ?
अब किसी रांझे या मजनूँ का हो मोहताज,
वो इश्क़ भला क्या इश्क़ हुआ!!
उसे मुबारक उसकी मंज़िल
मैं तो फ़िलहाल सफ़र में हूँ।
मंज़िल की जल्दी मुझको नहीं
अभी तो मैं रास्तों की नज़र ही हूँ।
मैं मान गई के वह रुका नहीं
हाँ, मैं जान गई के वह छोड़ गया।
अब देखो ना, मैं तो हीर बन गई
पर वो रांझा बनने से चूक गया।
