My Pulchrous Anguish

By Sankeerthana Laishetti

Replaced are those candied words with your ghostly silence,
The lips which once felt soft spitted venom.

Gaze became fogged.. not with low vision,
But with condensed tears.

Pushing me away with the very hands
Which once cuddled my cheeks.

Daggered my heart with broken promises,
Yet failed to get yourself out of that crack.

Breezed away are my reminiscences
From your heart.. making me ousted.

Thought you were my cherry blossom,
Bringing vibrance to my soul-
Yet you chose to bloom sucking it.

Urged, pleaded, howled-
Yet you never flinched, never looked back.

Spiralling around the infinite flashbacks,
Unable to let you go.

Signing off my core eternally-
That unfurled only for you.

Still choosing you in unchoosing you.
