Dr. Anju Sabharwal
The world looks down on those
Who have a different thought and ethos
Whether it's the dare of getting a tattoo done,
Or having a ball of a time or plain, simple fun;
Giving her learners experiences sublime,
Or treading on an unthought-of line.
The endless and nonsensical communication
Would unnerve many and create a sinful commotion.
The tut-tuts or crinkling of the nose at her madness,
Or the simple smile that formed at her craziness;
Wagging of tongues at her openness and frankness
Debates and deliberations on anything were endless.
Envy and jealousy at the ease of her forming relationships,
Gossips unabated and continuous, to sink her buoyant ship.
The frenzy of her innumerable friendships
Included curtailing her crush’s courtship.
Standing by mates through thick and thin,
Ready to bow down with a childish grin.
People would often think and wonder
Her selfless acts made many ponder:
Is it really so real, or is it all fake?
Scrutinizing all her actions in their wake.
Heights of insanity or mad maniac were the given names
By others who would love to set her to flames.
Unperturbed and unruffled she stood
A lone ranger surrounded by the wood.
Her mere presence would send many into a tiffy,
Looking for ways to sink her ship in a jiffy.
Crusader with no battle she needed to fight,
She left unscathed and quickly out of sight.
Scandalous thoughts circulated with great furore
Who was it that wanted to settle some unwritten score?
All were taken aback at the sudden and abrupt exodus
Was there some hidden reason which led thus?
Many tried to wrench out the real and unheard truth,
Sealed were the lips bearing the mystery from her youth.
She did, however, teach the envious villain a lesson or two
Through her graceful and poised words impromptu.
Even her crush tried to unearth the real reason
She just smiled and held on to the reason.
Conversations continued to flow back and forth,
Questions, collaborations, and deliberations set forth.
Never did the untold and puzzling saga escape her heart
She knew that the crush would rip the very person apart.
Looking forward to happier and joyful times ahead,
When, in battle, they would be again—head to head.
