It was a dreary morning,
Like an old, winding, black and white film…..
Heart crooning to Monday Blues,
Head burdened with the hangover of Old Monk,
Wobbly knees, moist palms,
My overriding thought was to skip office,
Akin to when, as a naughty schoolboy,
I feigned sickness to bunk classes…
Fortunately, before the mayhem intensified,
And melancholy tightened its noose,
I reined in the Blues, garnered all my strength,
And made a dash to escape…
After a short drive,
But what seemed like eternity,
I reached the office,
And sprawled like a sloth bear,
On the sarkari chair, of old vintage…
To allow sunlight to trickle through the windows,
I pulled up the drapes,
Lo & behold!!!
Nature’s incredible bounty beckons me,
A rainbow of flowers-blue, pink, violet, white, yellow-
Infused with the ability to lift the drooping human spirit,
Like a group of sparrows, which, when they act together,
Can fly off with the bird catcher’s net,
And so, the burden of lethargy crippling me, lifted,
Setting me free, to extend the limits of my imagination,
Creativity, to the farthest corners of the Cosmos….……
