Little girl, Big dreams

By Meghna Kinjalk

A little girl with eyes aglow,
Stars of hope within her soul;
She dreamed in shades of healing white,
A coat that shimmered pure and bright.
With plastic scope around her neck,
She whispered, “I will heal, protect.”
Her dolls were patients, teddy bears too,
“Someday,” she said, “I’ll treat you.”
Through schoolrooms long and nights awake,
Her dream she held, would never shake.
Each hurdle crossed, each page turned deep,
Her gentle heart, a vow to keep.
Then came the day her dream was near,
Exams faced bravely, calm and clear.
She saw herself, that noble grace—
A doctor’s smile upon her face.
And now admission in her hand,
An open door, her promised land.
MBBS—the start, at last,
Her little girl’s dream coming fast.
