Two parts, one that of the mind and the other the heart,
Start giving their opine in kind.
Do this! Do that!
You are this! You are that!
I look at the mirror and wait,
For more such unwanted thoughts,
that come unheedingly to my ears that wait.
Yes, what the mind says,
my ears take them without any say.
Mind says, overthink, be jealous, be insecure
Ears hear it and force my stubborn heart to heed.
Heart is under stress,
Mind doesn't give a damn
Heart looks at me and speaks out.
I need help! Can you come out of this maze?
Can you battle it out for me?
Can you stop crying and for once
pay heed to what I am SAYING!
I stand still in front of the mirror,
and look at both sides of my shoulders
Mind the Satan, heart the saint!
Mind smiles an evil smile,
Heart is lost and resigned to fate!
I look at myself and reply,
Let us do it HEART!
Heart looks at me and smiles,
Are you sure?
I look at myself in the mirror and smile.
I am going to try heart,
because I am done fighting for what is not MINE!
