Who has taken birth
Will have death
That's inevitable.
All know it,
But it’s hard to believe.
Life is mortal,
Nothing is everlasting
That's the bitter truth of life.
Then why does everything seem meaningless
When someone near and dear dies?
Why does the heart ache?
Why does life feel empty?
Why won’t the mind agree?
Who has gone beyond life,
Who has slept in the lap of death,
Will not come back.
Why do the eyes still search?
Why does the mind whisper
"The departed loved one
Will come and stand smiling,
Will say some unspoken words,
Will share some untold stories..."
Isn’t it just the confusion of the mind?
Why does the heart fear to accept the truth
That life is just an illusion,
Full of challenges?
And death…
Is the shadow of true peace.
