Welcome to the Late Night Circus!
A circus called my life.
I’m your entertainer for tonight —
Call me Mr. Bright!
Ladies, gentlemen, and forgotten toys,
In attendance tonight , chasing borrowed joy.
Close your minds and open your hearts,
The Late Night Circus is about to start.
I am a girl
Who likes to sing.
La la la la~
But Mommy says, “Don’t sing…”
It makes me a little sad...
So I dance for her!
With one leg!
Ta-da, ta-da, ta-da~
Oops — there I fall!
‘The audience laughs’
And just like that, ladies, gentlemen, and misfits —
My life is a performance.
And I am your jester.
I perform for you.
You laugh at me.
And I laugh at myself too!
Ha ha ha! Hahaha! Hahahaha!
(Shhh… I’m not manic though~)
‘The audience laughs’
They say the mask smiles wide and bright,
But it claws through my thoughts and squeezes my heart tight.
My misery swirls with humor wry —
Darling, I laugh the loudest when I want to die.
The paint cracks where my truth begins.
Tell me… do you love the life, or just the grin?
And when the curtain falls,
The audience applauds.
My eyes roll back in pleasure —
Oh, dear lords, I live for that sound...
But at last, the show ends.
One for all.
And my most cherished audience heads home.
It makes me a little sad...
I fall to my knees,
And scream —
AHHHH AHHHHH AHHHHH!
Oh look! Ruby red crystals!
My favorite, truly...
Oopsie — that’s my blood.
Still my favorite, though.
The night circus ends.
'The audience laughs'.
I, the artist, depart — heart in hand, torn apart.
Was it a hopeful end, or a gruesome start?
