Our vast culture and heritage,
On 26th July 1999, one nation tried to invade.
Our soldiers on the border had courage.
They fought with a handful of weapons and grenade.
The Indian Army had the blessings of mothers so brave.
That’s how they could fight the war for sixty long days.
We had won the battle,
And put the attackers on the cradle.
They crawled with crippled legs.
In the end, begged.
Some mercenaries returned to their home,
With a torn uniform.
While for some, only their body could come.
Fallen comrades were given a salute and tribute.
Only remains were their folded battledress.
Loss of life and tears shed.
Alas, it was part of the pledge!
India, our nation, our pride.
Once free, nobody could conquer it despite so wide.
All hail to the Indian Army.
For its unforgettable history of victory.
