A stunning state that I belong to,
A roller coaster of seasons that give no clue,
Timeless literature, through centuries, it evolved,
Unexplored locations—still a mystery to solve.
Once under the dominion of King Ashoka the Great,
The history etched with blood and a catastrophic fate.
Jagannath Temple—the epitome of grandeur and antiquity,
The endless Eastern coast glistening to symbolise integrity.
Diversified districts—each with a distinctive culture,
Konark Sun Temple and its intricate stone sculptures.
Indigenous knowledge of the traditional tribals
Is a serious threat to the environmental rivals!
The crystal-clear appearance of the Chilika Lagoon—
A biodiversity hub, and for migratory birds, a paradise boon.
The state capital is an ancient temple city,
Language or tradition—we forever welcome versatility.
Pakhala—a hearty delight to fulfil hunger and emotion,
A morsel of Mahaprasad is a wholesome and sacred purification.
The festival of Raja that marks the existence of womanhood,
Celebrating menstruation with divinity and decadent food.
A state that offers abundant picturesque landscapes—
A fulfilling road trip or a vacation for a mini escape!
Every pristine detail of its nature and heritage
Dates back to centuries of evidence preserved since the golden age.
Every creation of God made its mark on this place—
From peaks and valleys to beaches and a secret military base!
Adorable and amicable—folks you would love to befriend,
Once you get along, life just forges but never ends.
Still doubtful about which place am I referring to?
The eastern state of India—here, I introduce it to you.
A land so sublime and serene, satiating and soulful—
Odisha—my pride, till eternity, forever resourceful.
