It's between the Brain and the Heart

By Krithika Sudarsanam

Man does all things after a very deep think
Thro' God given excellent brain that causes occasional drain.

But man is ruled by heart thro' its special known art
Even if he knows it to be wrong he proceeds b'coz of its long.

At times when master is ready for a new steady
State, surely says you will fail in this new sail.

But if the master knows it to be a sure "NO"
It's after her cry that man decides for a try.

Though the master at top always tries to stop
her; she from within surely says "you may ",

Again if sometimes master can put a ban
Then she mails him and so he decides to hail.

Even if the brain for some reasons may treason
us; hath mostly never cheats and provides a good treasure.

  • The poem expresses the thought – where there is will there is a way. How the heart with its persuasion makes us do things even when brain knows the path might be difficult. The heart hope never dies even when brain can desert us some times. This might be a short poem but it carries a depth of emotions.

  • This poem beautifully captures the eternal conversation between the brain and the heart. With simple yet powerful lines, it shows how reason and emotion constantly guide, resist, and complement each other in human life. The imagery of the brain as the cautious master and the heart as the gentle persuader makes the poem both profound and relatable. It reminds us that true wisdom lies not in choosing one over the other, but in listening to both — the logic of the mind and the passion of the heart. Very well done Krithika maam, it’s really wonderful coordination of both brain and heart. Congratulations 🎊.
