It's All Within

By Ruptrishna Choudhury

What have we gained,
and what have we lost,
When we realise we’re just stardust, tossed —
Drifting through time, chasing our flame,
Seeking purpose, a voice, a name.
What is this life?
A question, a cry —
But I won’t give up until I see why.
It can’t be all sorrow, can’t all be pain—
There’s light in the storm, there’s growth in the rain.
So I sit in silence, feel the still,
Let peace return, bend to its will.
We don’t know how long this road may be,
How many nights we’ll spend with only “me.”
But in the stillness, something grows —
A quiet strength that softly glows.
I am not who I used to be,
I’ve let go of needing company.
People come and people go —
Some to teach, some to show.
And those meant to stay will find their place,
No longer ruled by what they’ll say,
They don’t know me anyway.
I’m becoming light, fierce and bright —
No longer needing to chase the night.
I no longer beg the world to see,
Because now I know: I’m proud to be me.
