The day might not be how I wanted,
But I'll always have a reason to thank.
For the dead couldn't see this day,
But I've strength in my bones to stand.
When I want it to rain,
But it's a sunny day again,
I'll thank that my schedules aren't delayed.
And when I wish to see sunshine,
But clouds hide it behind,
I'll thank for the refreshing shade.
When I wish to win a race,
But someone else takes that place
I'll thank that I'm not prone to boast.
And if someday I win first,
And I stand among well-versed,
I'll thank that YOU were with me on every road.
