By Anita Kumari
The dusk is darker, and the nights are blind.
The thunder shakes my heart,
But I'll still rise.
I may look tired, and I may fall.
You lost all hope, but I'll still rise.
I try until it's done,
Whether it takes all of me
But the me in me is stubborn, and it claims I'll still rise.
Burn me to ashes,
It will reach the sky.
Bury me to hell; I'll be a plant, and I'll still rise.
You might think I'm insane,
You may feel I lied.
But if you stay alive,
One day you'll see I'll still rise.
Whether a mountain gets in my way,
Whether the path gets drained away.
My belief will find a new way, and I'll still rise.
The spark in me never extinguishes,
The soul proclaims it high.
One day, hard work will pay off, and I'll still rise.
