I Don't Care

By Harshitha Neela

I don't care, I don't care,
Walking on my feet with my thoughts,
Chasing my goals, choosing what's right,
Feeling happier than ever before.

I know I live in my world—
And I own it.
Stronger than their words,
A sailor who survived the storm.

I may not be beautiful by their standards,
But I am me, not you.
I may not be the one you dreamed of,
Because I was never meant to be your version.

Sick of these comparisons—
When will they see?
That growth from yesterday to today
Is all that ever mattered.

And still—
The story unfolds,
One page at a time.
