Horizon's Silent Grudge

By Rhea Divekar

As the sea gazes at the sky
Waves slowly lapping at its surface
It begins to wonder why
Comparing its every detail
To the sight above it, colors vivid and bright
Cotton like clouds, hues of light
Jealousy begins to set into the sea
Wondering why its plain blue surface
Doesn’t compare to the sights it wishes to be
A reflection, it remains
In hopes to capture divinity
All it wants to be is beautiful
Reflecting the sky, disguising the pains
They paint it, write poems and admire with awe
As they stare up at the sky with love
A bitter feeling within
Wishing it could look stunning being raw
Yet the sea remained unaware
That the sky was lonely
Wishing for life, beyond compare
Similar to the ocean, creatures within
Ripples of adventure, myriads of colors
Hiding underneath its azure skin
The sky was empty, forever will be the same
Attempting to mimic the ocean with its blue shades
Simmer of envy
The guilt becomes blame
And as times goes on, eternity begins
The silence continues
Blind to their beauty
Blind to their wins
Two genuine souls, envy and rage
Lightning and thunder, towering tides
The same story written in different fonts
On both sides of the thin page

  • Absolutely amazing like I don’t even have words to describe, the vocabulary, the feeling, emotion within the structure and deepness of the poem are superb!!
