Him – Delhi Poetry Slam

Him

By Shambhavi Singh

Dark confined yet pleasant,
In a cave I used to hide,
questionnaire of prison or freedom, filled me with dread up front,
damp cave walls exclaimed 'you have to survive!'.

A splinter to the drowning bruised soul,
A ray of light from the brightest of the stars,
Like a pack of sunbeamy little ones,
Like light shines out of darkness, there you are!

Oh dear! Where have you been?
Eyes widened, heart fluttered,
Are you the answer to my questions? women in love are indeed a toddler.

His presence chased away blankness, Unhinged, empty minds are unreal,
A feeling I could never express,
of how he made me feel !
