Have you
seen a human burn
have you?
When the fire
has consumed
the skin and cloth
the bones and organs
remind you of a biology textbook.
It takes effort
to burn through those
add more fuel
keep the flame alive
you'll never
get all of it
have you watched
a body burn
all the way
to the end?
Ash and bones
that's all
that's left
ash and bones
ash in your breath
bone in your heart
you carry the fumes
for months
on your tongue
under your fingernails
on your pillows
and bedsheets.
It just fucking stays.
