इश्क में नाकामी कुछ यूँ रही।
चाहा जिसे हमने वो मिलकर भी मिला नहीं।
दिल के घावों की शिफ़ा कुछ यूँ रही।
मरहम मिले जहाँ भर के घाव फिर भी भरा नहीं।
हर मोड़ पर सवालों की क़तार कुछ यूँ रही।
जवाब मिल तो जाता मगर वो सवाल हमने कभी किया नहीं।
ज़िंदगी बीतने के साथ ही कहानी कुछ यूँ रही।
जो ग़ज़ल पूरी करता,वो मक़्ता हमने कभी लिखा नहीं।
