Groans out of a church

By Samuel Peter

As I recently attended a funeral of a known aunt's husband, I got to know that the church where the funeral was going on was the same church where the couple got married. This poem is an attempt to showcase her sadness.

Condolences don't stop,
But my heart doesn't take comfort,
I lost someone irreplaceable,
Whom I promised to make 'mine', I lost him,

With Love and Cherishment,
This place united us,
and in the same place,
We were divided,

Alone, I stand now,
Only shadows that comfort me,
For I lost him, My journey is all alone,
My heart sets back,
What does this place remind me of?
The Embrace of my love? or
The Embarkment of my love?
