Give me my Lost World

By Jayajit Dash

In the whispering winds of yesteryears, I seek my lost world,
A place where dreams danced in the sunlight, and time stood still.

Give me back my lost world, where rivers sang a gentle tune,
And forests whispered secrets, old as the mountains' croon.

Give me the days of innocence, when the sky was endless blue,
And the laughter of children filled the air, a melody so true.

Give me the fields of wildflowers, where colours painted skies,
And the scent of summer filled the air, a sweet, intoxicating prize.

Give me the nights of starlit dreams, where constellations gleamed,
And the moonlight cast a silver glow, on the world that seemed serene.

Give me the stories of old, where tales of valour grew,
And the courage of the brave was told, in stories ever new.

Give me the quiet moments, when the world was at peace,
And the heart of nature beat in time, with a rhythm so sweet.

Give me my lost world, where love was pure and true,
And the heart of humanity was kind, a world we never knew.

Now, in the rush of modern days, I long for what was lost,
A world that seemed so simple, a world that felt so vast.
Give me my lost world, where hope was always near,
And the future was a canvas, waiting for us to paint and steer.

So take me back, to that world of yore, where dreams were not so rare,
Give me my lost world, where the heart of man was never bare.
