From Broth to Brothel

By Mohd Sarfraz Choudhary

The so called probabilities greeted,
in a fortunate uncanny beginning;
And the unseen bathed in broth,
millennia before the Lord’s crowning.

Myriad of mutations and diabolical drifts,
manifested in the tissue’s tale to land;
the first of the kins unimaginable,
thus kept branching in apocalyptic sand.

Finally an ambiguous mind unravelled,
and unparalleled was it's lust of learning;
from fire to fairies and wheels to wars,
intentions could even leave the ice burning.

Dilemma struck the evolved over curiosity,
quench the questions or lie in leisure and dine;
some gazed their guilts , some grinded grapes,
and so sprouted the God and the wine.

Sooner the very sexes gaped into gender,
men turned to metals and women to worries;
painters and poets lived on burnt scrolls,
priests and princes carried poisonous berries.

Ballads of beauty , pierced by febrile feathers,
had cauldrons of chauvinism dripping in haste;
nothing else would have been more unholy,
than smelting the society's sexual taste .

Medieval mints forged four prodigal coins ,
the first two sustained a brick and bayonet,
another one meditated in mendicant's bowl,
and the last lied in the courtesan's cabinet.

Men, by now, were bigot beasts,
inimical inventors losing every war within;
erroneous eyes, by now, were enough,
in dancing with the dignity of the skin.

Culminating into a cascading carnage of character,
where innocence stands inflammable;
men's menace stems from gametic grudges,
where women are sold for stains indelible .

This was not what the Lord expected,
virtues to vanish and sins to swell;
what a vicious voyage man takes pride of,
from a blameless broth to blasphemous brothel.
