From Bird To Phoenix

By Jyoti Thakur

There once was a girl the world cast aside,
She searched for love with no one to confide.
In crowds, she wandered—unheard, unseen
Yet found her peace in quiet dreams.

With stars in her eyes and hope on her back,
She dared to walk a different track.
The first at home to break the chain,
To chase the sky, to dance in rain.

But her own father became her wall,
Afraid of dreams, he let her fall.
He handed her to a loveless place,
Where talent dimmed, and light lost grace.

They clipped her wings, silenced her song,
Made her believe she didn’t belong.
From silks and shine to dust and stone,
She wandered, wept, and stood alone.

No dreams to chase, no stars in sight,
Just heavy days and colder nights.
Until, one day, a cry so sweet
Two tiny hands, and little feet.

A daughter born—an angel’s face
Who gave her pain a name, a place.
But this child, too, had wings to grow,
And she knew she couldn’t keep them low.

So she broke the cage that held her tight,
And stitched her wings with all her might.
With leaves of strength and threads of pain,
She rose again through wind and rain.

She builds new wings for her little one,
To show her that dreams are never done.
She walks her path with lifted chin
For she has learned to fight, and win.

Now stronger than she’s ever been,
She lives her truth, free from within.
From broken bird to phoenix flame
She rose, they said—and changed the game.
