Clad in the yarns of insolence,
The Envy slithered noiselessly,
Towards the elusive inner core,
Lingering outside the cottage.
The cottage of fragile sanity,
Clutching her hours of stint,
Cramming her little freedom,
With her groundless thoughts.
A loud noise broke the peace,
The peace of body and soul,
That did not instantly cease,
What else happened there?
The flash of brief deafness,
In a fraction of a second,
Was it the twisting fate,
That silenced everyone?
Foes swiftly hurled the bomb,
Saturated with years of anger,
Dried on the sheet of retribution,
More harmful than a toxic spear.
Hey, Crime League crew,
Did Envy have any allies?
The calm rage and raging Envy,
Are they buddies of baloney?
The flames of hatred spread,
Sizzling and consuming sanity,
Leaving behind tearful trails,
And the dark ashes of regret.
