Farewell – Delhi Poetry Slam

Farewell

By Madhumita Bhattacharya

Days just flew away and months too gone
Years ended, with calendar leaves torn

Toddlers turned teens, and one fine day left us
'Cause exams they have passed, with results gorgeous

I grew older and a lot more grey threads
Joyfully now are decorating my head

Life is like that, a passage 'To and Fro'
In between we all gracefully grow

Stay happy and blessed, I'll miss you all
Henceforth 'shall be waiting, for your occasional call

As "change is the only constant",
I believe
Now the time for me to say 'Good Bye'.

  • Dear sir/Madam,
I’m delighted that my poem is selected for the site. However a little request that in the last but one line, it ends with “believe I” in place of “I believe”, which was written for the poetic necessity. Would it be possible to give the correct one as written originally?
However, it is a great encouragement that my poem is liked by you. Thank you so much from the core of my heart.
Thanks once again and best wishes.
    Sincerely yours
