Etiolated

By Nidhi Mishra

An existence never felt before,
A sense of pleasure that embraced her soul.
Philosophy that elided spirit,
Gestures of affection fleeting yet exquisite.

Intellect with a deterrent thought,
Despaired at first, but bravely she fought.
Internal scars stayed unnoticed,
Kept moving forward but the world prejudiced.

Predators searching all around,
Again the savagery silenced the sound.
Tears of dismay shredded down,
The joy of life was never to be found
