Eternity of Afflicted Love

By Beatrise Venmathi P.Rayer

Behold him—the one for whom my heart resonates,

Echoing and reminiscing the nostalgic memories
When the heart grew fond of him, awaiting his return.
Heart intertwined and became one,
Reverberating during his presence—
Despite numerous storms, serenity followed thereafter.
For amidst the darkness,
My love stood like a beacon of light,
Strengthening my existence.

Somewhere deep within my soul,
My joy knew no bounds
When thou first didst express thy love—
That priceless moment I captured in my heart.

And every time I think of it,
My heart skips a beat.
Overwhelmed and speechless I become—
When called to express my fondness.
Without him I become pale and grow frail.

I need yet another eternity
To love thee true.
Each passing day and night,
I think of thee—
Every moment, every second, I miss thee.

True love isn’t short-lived, but strong-willed;
No calculator can measure love’s intensity.
Are you an enchanter?
How am I so captivated?
Is it thy charm that spells me bound?

Yes, thou didst lure me—
Dear Master, I am thy beloved.
Together we shall dwell
In the caste of lovers—
Forevermore.

For affection seldom grows without affliction.
