Easter

By Poornima Dayal

And the Lord has resurrected
for all of us, He has protected.
A day so fine,
to pray and dine,
the Lord hath given,
for He has risen.

Let us celebrate and we must merry make,
for the Lords rising only for our sake.
His victory is a point to venerate
oh, my beloved Lord, within us You lovingly create
a sense of joy, harmony and bliss
today's that special day, on Your holy feet, we plant a kiss.
Brushing past those sands of sin
when few men harmed the innocent kith and kin,
In Your passing away once,
clearing our debts, healing us on all our fronts.

Oh, remind me not of that pain or agony,
how could they cause such harm or blasphemy.
But Ye are the Lord, and rise You did
bringing love to all those who hid,
behind dense trees seeking shelter,
crying were hearts, waiting again for Your sacred nectar.
They may have been wicked,
those fellows were crooked,
they know not what they do, hence, they were pardoned,
my Lord, Thy glorified heart, forgiving them did not harden.

Ye, have risen, for us once again
to rejoice, breathe and to gain
more love and benefits as You give,
reasons to go on and to live.
Chanting Thy name, oh so pure
as me and others it surely lures,
into radiant, new pastures,
hearing at church the holy pastors,
blessing me with Thy revered waters,
caressing us, we are Thy inconsequent sons and daughters.
