Dreams

By Sunetra Malik

I was sitting on the bed all alone
An idea came to my head at home
It was to write a poem in dream,
But I remembered a Hymn of Him.
I held on a Japanese pen
But Hiroshima warned me in vain…
Not only I stored my hope,
But also tied it with a rope.
I found myself in the land of imagination
With creatures in evolution
Plants of afforestation.

I was sitting under a tree
With birds singing care free,
And bright flowers watching me,
I understood the vernaculars of the birds and flowers;
They expressed their joy to see,
The approaching cattle herds over thee
I was not ALONE !!

Somebody whispered, “Return home!”
“Oh, My Sweet Home,” I cried with joy
I opened my eyes and found my dears
Sitting near with a chocolate bar and a toy.
