Dim Suns

By Md Asif Abdur Razzak

From the earliest light they gaze upon,
To the same light that ends with them.
I wonder what light is,
and what life is to them.

Sheer winds but ambitious clouds,
Floating amongst thunder and rain.
The absurd density they carry within,
I wonder what the sky is to them.

We see a shallow,
They see deep hope.
I wonder what they wonder,
What dissolved with the soap!

What is intolerable
is a vein in their neck!
I wonder how they bleed,
or what blood is to them.

I cry a slight cry,
Carrying intense waves.
Failing to write along,
Their inaudible pain.

Disappointment we feel,
Depressed about ambitions.
I'm curious, rather sure,
If ambition lives among them.

We cry when comfort taps out,
Exposed to a deafening silence.
I wonder how much they've shed!
Or if voice lives among them.

The unbearable heat and cold,
that tears down our stands,
is 'everyday' for those,
who've never seen rain.

The guilt pricks me a lot!
Down to my very grounds.
How can I lift up my head?
When they bow in silence.

So bear witness to such agony!
Such never-ending pain!
Do you think life can be a truth?
If they suffer in vain?

Maybe it's high time we ponder
and contemplate on what we've believed.
For life cannot be an answer
to all they've seen!

Indeed, there are secrets!
That are held within themselves.
Maybe we're too ignorant
to see through this end?

I'm not forecasting imaginations
or creating weird confusions.
I'm asking you to hold yourself accountable
for making fake conclusions!

That we live once, then we die.
So enjoy to your fullest.
But is death really the end?
Have you ever asked yourself?

Maybe you've been fooled
into thoughts that weren't yours.
Maybe you've been guided
by those who never had a goal!

For life is no joke!
To live through and die.
For their pain is no fun,
They also have the right to life!

Or maybe pleasure's a myth,
For which we live once.
While missing the unseen moments,
They always feel twice!

Maybe that's why they're angelic!
Blessed in disguise!
Maybe we're the ones who are blind,
For death's surely not a lie.

And even if death's a common factor,
I wonder how they exactly feel.
While we feel lost in both worlds,
I wonder what death is to them.

So let's ponder in sincerity,
Indeed there is a way!
For we haven't been present randomly!
We have a purpose, a reason to stay!
