Come on, please

By Ranjan Kumar Bhattacharje

COME ON, PLEASE

Let me get into the train
Waiting at platform of virgin, the engine is steamed off,
The situation calls for timely action
Laziness is nuisance. As a demon slayer, time
Is taking away beauty and odour of a flower,
Just as floating dewdrop in atmosphere.

Come on, dear, I’m waiting outside
succulent vineyard in an island of beauty-let me enter,
youth is an opportunity
God once grants everybody.
Did you forget-everything gets its worth in utility?

When our hands have met, it’s unfair to leave you
Without feeling the warmth of shaking it,
It’s wise to share goods of your shop with a
Friend not a stranger, predators like foxes around;
Besides, if we want to unite souls,
Must allow body to come close.

Remember, my coy mistress, it’s my generosity-
Since you have pleased me with your beauty
It’s my obligation to please you with return gift.

Time is waiting as hangman, next-
Death, our arch enemy, will do the rest.

worms in the grave weaving warp and woof with willow,
Before Time comes and destroy such beautiful garden,
Let me be Bard of Avon to inscribe you in eternal rhymes,
Remember, if you serve me today, I’ll serve you for ever.
Trust me, dear, for sake of friendly charity as you are.
