Colorblind

By Shreyasi Chauhan

Blue and Grey
Scattered before my eyes,
And there I saw you — smiling like sunshine,
Making your eyes almost disappear in the process.
But the moment you passed through me,
Everything turned back as before,
Leaving me alone by myself
All black & white.

Those greyish strands dancing all over your pale
Cheeks, and those ocean-blue eyes attracting me
Towards you like a force
Greater than Newton's law.
Oh! What a holy sight — just you in
Blue & grey.

Tell me,
Am I greedy for craving more of you?
Boy, how I wish I could see every piece of you.
Even that little glimpse of yours was enough
To quench my thirst, and I feel like
Every moment my heart was about to burst.

Just like a miracle,
You happened to me.
How glad I was
I'm sure you couldn't see.
That pitch-black darkness couldn't hide
Your godly sight.
But all those moments — how I wish
I was not colorblind.
