Cleansing Ourselves

By June S Sanyal

The same clouds which were dark yesterday

Roaring, “Don’t cross the border, step away”

Suddenly lost its darkness, giving a way
The Sun and the Sky a place to play.

I asked myself, “Was it this dark yesterday ?”

Yes it was, the Sun couldn’t find its way.
Today the same clouds are looking brilliant

All calm, happy and ready to paint

Light and easy colours, so lenient !

I double checked with my tiny brain

Is this the same cloud, tell me again !

Yes, the clouds never changed,

Cause water is made of the same elements,

Rather Earth suffers from its new ailments.
Like the heat, cold and dust are hell bent
To touch the sky, pour out and vent.

I could as well look downwards to see,

The shades also change in the sea.

Let’s clean our own dust, those clouds can’t rinse

Their job is to merge coincidence with peace.
