Blind in the Light – Delhi Poetry Slam

Blind in the Light

By Aiyana Kashyap

Silence echoes the hallways
Empty and quiet with a pale, yellow light
shinning down the dark abyss.

The light a juxtaposition in the dingy room
Pale and lucid almost transparent
contrasting against the soft blanket of
velvet darkness.

The light pure and bright but blinding
It burned my eyes and shot its icy dagger
like brightness to my nocturnal eyes.

It was the moon glaring in the sky
disrupting the natural and inevitable
darkness of the night.
