Forgotten how it felt to be loved
forgotten how it felt to have butterflies,
forgotten to be swept off my feet
remembering what each day looks like.
Forgotten to be cared for
forgotten to be someone's priority,
forgotten to be pampered
remembering the disparities.
No more expectations
beyond the repair stage,
time can't heal those wounds
as fresh cuts appear on the way.
Don't need the appreciation
don't need the acknowledgement
don't need anybody else,
a reminder to always 'Love Yourself'.
Comfort in these pure words
the message touched a million hearts,
it wiped my tears
made me realize what I'm worthy of…
Got back the butterflies
got back the blush
got back the smile
got the reason to trust.
Found a new strength
found a new love,
wounds healed
its traces blurred.
Out of my league
will never possibly meet
still a hope to live by every single day,
will live a lifetime
even if it’s a second's stay.
An impossible dream yet I run
no matter I become an old woman,
love's an intrinsic nature
after all, I am just human.
