An Analogy of Love

By Reetwik Chaulia

Our love is like a golden warper of chocolate.
To sense the essence and delicacy under it is yet to get,
To endeavour that velvety pleasure with our tongue,
To breath the same air with our lung,
We must wait
Until the warper tears apart.
If we burn it with bodily fire and sweat,
Together with colliding heat of our heart,
The Core will either melt or burn.
And will drip from the corners of the warper
To accompany our melting yearn,
With the flickering of an ignited taper.

Hate emerges as we chewed through our past,
Ignoring the present to drizzle in dust.
We started exercise down the memory lane
To calculate the puny moments of loss and gain.
Thus,
We fall
Again, and again.

Meanwhile, our melting yearns coagulate
To its definite form
With the flickering taper blown by some storm
And we tugged towards our fate
We decide to hate
The bygone days
And we learn the lucid phrase:
Let the past be the past
Our tender love will last

Ever, forever.
