A wounded butterfly

A Wounded Butterfly

She is just a girl who lives in her own world, with her own thoughts.

She used to be amazed by little things, always finding beauty in them.

She even saw beauty in the busy auto, by looking at the faces of children eagerly waiting to see
their mothers.

She was a girl who cared deeply for her mom and loved her family in every way.

But when did the beautiful girl’s wings start to shrink? When did it happen?

Was it because of how others treated her? Was it when she couldn’t ride the new bicycle that came
home?

Was it because of the trauma she experienced as a child, or the exhaustion from her parents'
constant fighting?

Was it when she realized the people around her were fake, and the love they showed her was just a
mask, just words?

Was it when she found out her mom had cancer? Or when she began hiding her emotions, thinking
that if she cried, her mom would feel worse?

Was it when the fights with her mom grew more intense?

Was it because she wanted to be a "good girl"? Or because she worried too much about what others
thought?

Was it because she kept her feelings and pain to herself?
Or because she didn’t defend herself when people blamed or gossiped about her?

Was it when her mom left her, never coming back?

Was it when someone came into her life to make her feel better?

Was it when a friend left, leaving behind a pain that would last forever?

Was it when she faced inner battles about leaving her dad?

Was it when she left home in search of her own desires?

Was it when she couldn’t be there for her sister when she needed her most?

Was it when she had to hold in all her love in a selfish world?

Was it when she tried to be a true friend, only to be left out and blamed?

Was it when she kept trying to prove herself?

Was it because she was tired of having to prove her thoughts and her worth?

Yes, her wings were on the edge of being broken in the end. But…

There is still a little hope that keeps her going, helping her fly through life in the name of her
dreams!

In the name of being herself! In the name of independence! In the name of self-respect!

In the name of love!

And in the name of living a simple life with genuine people, and with the love she carries inside,
she steps out into the world as a butterfly!
