A Romantic Weekend

By Jaspriya Kaur

And just like that,
we held each other tight,
in the city of New York.

In the city of chaos,
he was my calm.
In the city full of people,
he was my own.
In the fast paced lifestyle;
My heart slowed down in joy with him.
In the city of opportunities,
he was my magician.

Was I living in a dream - I asked.
Besides my cosy room on the fourth floor,
antique radio in the room,
look of the busy street’s from my window,
the wind on a sunny day,
never ending talks and endless roads,
walking hand in hand,
giggling, dancing on the roads,
hopping from one place to another,
ending the night with hot chocolate,
I met myself after meeting him.
I don’t know this girl,
I want to meet her everyday.

It was a romantic weekend,
we held each other tight -
like never before,
in the New York city.
