A Radiance of Your Own

By Advika Joshi

We see celebrities with perfect lives,
Their world—a dream we long to realize.
So why can’t we?
When life feels like a long-lost dream,
The stars fade behind the screen.

Every pro comes with a con,
Every rose hides a thorn.
Every smiling face that moves along
Holds a story they wish were gone.

We watch perfect lives and compare,
But what about the nightmares no one shares?
God made everyone a ten,
Yet even stars flicker now and then.

A lion muffles its mighty roar,
Dreaming of wings it can’t explore.
Grounded by fate, he stumbles in doubt,
Forgetting the strength he once roared about.

Let us accept and not compare,
For the gifts you hold are truly rare.
Mastery in one is far more grand
Than chasing mirages across the sand.

Don’t let others define your glow,
Shine so bright and let your true self show.
