A Letter to My Mother

By Devanshi Agarwal

Sole spectator in my world’s auditorium,
One, two-now, twenty-one.
I dance, sing, jump and glide;
Booming cheer in my atrium-
Is what I found it bide.

“There’s always a first-
then a million more just follow by,”
-sung by my bedside.

Two hearts shattered,
I saw in my atrium-
When I cried.
One, two- now, twenty-one.

Feared to be a bride,
Always wanted her by my bedside.
One, two- now, twenty- one….
