"i'm drowning, aren't i?" i ask the clouds.
the fishes reply, "living? yes."
"what did i do right?" water's filling my heart and lungs.
the stars echo, "nothing. no."
"i finally got my wish." salt doubled and streamed down my face.
"no. i finally got my wish," countered the smiling vulture.
the ocean inside my veins and blood on my
floating, suffocating, flying, sinking,
dead, breathing, alive, heart-beating
soul.
