I rushed through the traffic,
with a stack of books over my head,
rain pouring all over
and the traffic lights
almost blinding my sight,
to a bus stop across the street.
I reached all drenched in rain,
loosened my tie
and took a fresh breath.
As I turned to the side,
I saw a girl in a yellow dress,
her eyes gleaming in the moonlight,
her fingers playing with the rain drops
 falling by the roof.
She stood beaming at the moon
as if she knew ; she was her creation.
If at all she didn't, I swear I did,
for a sculpture she was.
A sudden splash of water
and a honking noise of bus ,
I suddenly fell out of the dream.
She took light steps and entered the bus
leaving my heart wailing in pain.
All I could hear was, ‘Will she never know this admirer, will she never know this moment? ‘
She went and sat at the window seat
looked outside and saw me
and smiled,
I looked at her as if it was my last look at life until the bus passed by.
I sat down by the bench
to notice a wallet left behind,
it had valuables and her picture with a name written beneath ,
I knew as if forever
Lily was mine,
and hence our everlasting story began.
